RXL Adds 100 New Products, Updates Templates

The folks over at RX Limited have boosted their product catalogue with over 100 new products and have updated their ready-to-fly affiliate templates to incorporate the new products. There is also news of some small changes in FedEx shipping charges.

The RX Limited program is one of our top picks in the pharmacy affiliate category, and the group has just boosted its product catalogue with over 100 new products. The group’s easy-to-use templates, which use XML or javascript data feeds, have also been updated to incorporate the new products.

Also of note is a small change to FedEx shipping charges, which now begin at $19.95. Although any new stores created in the RXL back-end will include the new shipping charge by default, older stores will need to be updated manually in order to pass the cost on to customers. (The RXL commission model subtracts the full cost of shipping from affiliate commissions; this means that increases in shipping costs will be paid for directly out of your commissions if you do not choose to pass the price increase on to customers.)

Last but not least, RXL now offers the option to turn off pricey Saturday shipping. This shipping option, which weighs in at some $32, is something we find almost unbelievably expensive — and for the types of products RXL sells, we find it hard to believe that very many customers would ever be so eager to receive their orders that they’d be willing to pay such a high shipping fee. In keeping with our belief that commission rates are best viewed as a percentage of total cost to customers, this pricey Saturday shipping option is simply a mechanism for lowering commission rates. In our view, it’s best turned off immediately!
