Affiliate veteran Brian Johnson — perhaps best known for his role as affiliate manager of the now-defunct MyRXForLess — has picked up blogging and has recently been posting about setting up a blog and commenting on RSS feed resources. This looks like a great start on a resource for bloggers interested specifically in targeting AdSense, which Brian says is his aim as he increasingly moves away from the big affiliate programs in pharmacy and related retail industries.
We did notice, though, that Brian’s tip in Part Two of his article on Setting Up a WordPress Blog suggests a technically superfluous step that could actually harm your blog’s reliability under the hood: there is no need to add a plugin to generate excerpts, as WordPress does this automatically whenever the excerpt field in the original post is blank. (Just visit the WordPress site itself for more tips on the blogging software used by Brian as well as right here at AffiliateInsight.com.)
We wish Brian all the best through the transition as he shifts his focus to AdSense and blogging!
