PayPal Change Trips Up Some Affiliate Programs

Last updated 21st December 2005

While some multi-tier programs are trying to convince themselves the rules don’t apply to them, others are scrambling to come up with alternative ways of paying their affiliates. If you get paid by a tiered program via PayPal, it’s not just their account at risk — it’s yours, too.

As Jagger Update Takes Effect, Traffic Numbers Show Impact

Last updated 30th November 2005

While most of the discussion about the major November update of the Google index — popularly referred to as the ‘Jagger’ update — has focused on changes to the Google algorithms and resulting alterations to SERPs, we’ve noticed a change in something that matters a great deal more. Namely, we’re seeing that Jagger is apparently beginning to impact real world traffic, and we’re ecstatic to see the traffic figures plummeting at a selection of spam-supported sites across the web. Meanwhile, our sites that focus on adding real value with real content continue to enjoy growing visitor numbers and page views.

Semantic Relevance Versus Syntactic Optimization: SEOs Confused About Real Content

Last updated 4th November 2005

Is the job of a search engine to find content that is ‘optimized’ for a given key phrase? No! The job of a search engine is to find content that is semantically relevant to that key phrase. Froogle to Eliminate Most Online Pharmacy Listings

Last updated 5th October 2005

Most online pharmacy listings included in Froogle will finally disappear.
